My name is Lisa Slusher, and I am one of our 5th grade math teachers. I love educating students through inquiry based, and hands-on learning.  My love for Project Based Learning began while earning a Masters in Teaching at Trevecca Nazarene University, as well as while teaching elementary school at Smith Springs (just outside of Nashville).  I taught first grade for 3 years at Marvin Wright Elementary right here in Spring Hill, and I have been teaching math here at Battle Creek Middle School since we opened the school in 2019.  I love math, and I hope to help your child love it too!

A little more about me…

• I was born & raised in ARIZONA!  I LOVE the West Coast!
• I’ve been married to Mr. Slusher for 20 years this December!
• We have two children- a daughter (16) and a son (14). 
• I coach volleyball at Spring Hill High School and with M1 Volleyball Club.  I have been coaching for 6 years, and this sport makes me very happy!
• In 2019, my family bought a mini-farm with a fixer-upper house, and I can often be found doing construction and outdoor projects alongside my hubby.
• I absolutely LOVE animals. We have a dog, cats, alpacas, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, honey bees… who knows what is next?!
• When I am not at school or coaching volleyball, my favorite place to be is outdoors- gardening, doing projects, kayaking, & exploring! I also love to paint & scrapbook!
