Jr. Beta Club

Purpose: Jr. Beta Club is a national organization focused on academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. At BCMS, members have opportunities to serve their school and community, participate in service projects, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact on others. 

How to Join: Invitation only; membership is based on academic performance and behavior. 

Grade Levels: 6th–8th Grade 

Meeting Schedule: Last Wednesday of each month at 7:10 a.m. in the library

Jr. Optimist Club

Purpose
The BCMS Jr. Optimist Club is a nationally recognized organization focused on service and giving back to our community. Members participate in a variety of service projects throughout the year, such as toy drives for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, collecting donations for HERO Hounds Dog Rescue, creating Easter goodie bags for local nursing home residents, and participating in Buddy Ball with Spring Hill Little League. 

How to Join
Students in grades 5–8 can join by attending the first club meeting. It is not too late to join! Dues are $10, and students must have a permission slip completed by a parent/guardian to participate in meetings and events.

Meeting Schedule
Tuesday mornings before school, but not every Tuesday. Meeting dates will be announced through ParentSquare and school announcements/social media.

Epic Mentor

Purpose: EPIC students serve as positive ambassadors for BCMS. Members welcome new students, families, and community members, give tours, greet guests at events, hold doors, and help create a friendly and welcoming school environment. Every positive interaction helps represent Battle Creek well! 

How to Join: Students are selected by 5th grade teachers  

Grade Levels: 6th–8th Grade 

Meeting Schedule: as needed
