Veloz, Laura

I earned my bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2011 and have worked in education for more than 20 years. This is my fifth year at Battle Creek Middle School, where I teach 5th grade Social Studies and Science. I am passionate about history and enjoy helping students make meaningful connections to the past while exploring the world around them. My husband, Mr. Veloz, and I have been married for 10 years, and we have one dog. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, crafting, and cheering on my favorite hockey teams. Each year, I look forward to meeting a new group of students and helping them have a successful transition into middle school.
