I was born and raised along the sunny coast of San Diego, where I had 365 days of sunshine to play sports outside. I wasn’t allowed inside until the streetlights came on—and yes, there were streetlights when I was growing up! Video games weren’t really an option, so instead, we spent our time playing whatever sport was in season, including baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, golf, and plenty of others.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and my master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. I’ve now spent 26 years getting paid to play, which officially makes me a professional athlete. You’re welcome! 😂

I’m grateful to have a career that allows me to share my love of sports and physical activity with students and hopefully encourage them to stay active, try new things, and find activities they enjoy.
